A little bit about me….

Hi, I’m Charlotte!

From a young age, I’ve always been drawn to the ocean. I was fortunate to grow up along the UK coastline and spend part of my childhood in Adelaide, Australia.

However, my journey into the ocean truly began in 2022 when I graduated from the University of Liverpool with a First-Class Degree in Marine Biology (BSc). During my final year, I completed my PADI Open Water certification, and although it was quite (extremely) cold, I discovered my passion for scuba diving.

After graduating, I interned with different organisations in Egypt, the Seychelles and Thailand, where I immersed myself in the world of marine conservation. I gained valuable experience in coral reef, turtle and nudibranch conservation through daily survey dives, data analysis and educating locals and tourists on important marine conservation topics.

I wrapped up 2023 in Koh Tao, Thailand, where I became a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. This opened my eyes to the possibility of combining my love for diving with my Marine Biology Degree to pursue my dream career in marine conservation.

I fell in love with the island of Koh Tao and now travel back and forth to work as a Dive Instructor and Marine Biologist. My main interest lies in coral reef conservation and I aim to get more involved in active restoration projects worldwide next year.

In the diving community, people always ask such diverse and interesting questions that I want to research and write about, not only to educate others but also to deepen my own understanding. As a result, I’ve been inspired to start this blog where I can share my knowledge, explore different marine topics and connect with fellow ocean lovers.
